Hi all. We've got lots of fun activities planned for this year's World Carfree Day in Dhaka.18 Sept: create a parklet20 Sept: group walk followed by press conference on carfree cities22 Sept: outdoor activity (open street), for the first time with government involvement; planning lots of activities including drama, music, flash mob, games with people with disabilities, traditional games, slow cycling race (an idea borrowed from Nepal), etc.24 Sept: group bicycle ride
I'm also starting to do carfree cities seminars at universities. We had a good one today...and I hope to do many more. We are using the talks to recruit students to We Squared (Wellbeing and Equality for Everyone) Clubs...you can learn more at We-Squared Club | Challenge. Resist. Regain The carfree cities part still says "moving in cities" but we plan to change that... We're also on Facebook. If anyone is interested in joining us, or sees the potential for bringing our activities to your city, please let me know! This is a new initiative but we're gaining steam, and have an internship program that will train youth leaders to start clubs and carry out these campaigns.
Would also love to hear what other listserv members are up to...and if anyone has ideas on who we should recruit to this listserv, please share!

As far as I know, the list is fully functional. There has been very little traffic, however, since I removed the moderation requirement.

I'm recruiting people for the carfree cities cause, mostly at the moment in India and Bangladesh. Right now I'm doing it through We Squared (www.wesquared.club) but can of course bring interested people onto this list, once it gets reactivated.
